Beijing will start the yellow warning of heavy air pollution at 16: 00 today.
BEIJING, Beijing, February 26 (Chen Hang) The reporter learned from the Beijing Ecological Environment Department that the emergency headquarters Office of Beijing Heavy Air Pollution is scheduled to start the yellow warning of heavy air pollution at 16: 00 on the 26th.
According to the actual situation of air quality and the latest forecast analysis, due to the adverse meteorological conditions such as regional transmission and recovery, low pressure, inversion temperature and high humidity, the air quality in Beijing reached a moderate pollution level during the day on February 26. It is estimated that on the night of 26th, the pollution will be further aggravated by the influence of fireworks and firecrackers during the Lantern Festival, reaching a level of heavy pollution. On the 27 th, the diffusion conditions continued to be unfavorable, and the air quality will maintain a heavy pollution level; It is expected that the air quality will gradually improve due to the influence of precipitation on the 28th.
It is reported that during the yellow warning period, Beijing strictly implemented the requirements for the prohibition and restriction of fireworks and firecrackers; Stop the outdoor construction site painting, slope protection shotcrete, building demolition, cutting, earthwork and other construction operations; For key roads, cleaning and cleaning operations will be increased once a day or more; Enterprises included in the emergency emission reduction list shall, in accordance with the performance rating of heavy pollution and the principle of differentiated management and control, implement measures to stop production and reduce emissions in gas-related sewage disposal processes.
The Beijing Ecological Environment Monitoring Center previously stated that the Lantern Festival is the last peak of fireworks and firecrackers during the Spring Festival, which will often have a significant adverse impact on Beijing’s air quality and significantly increase the level of air pollution. If adverse meteorological conditions are encountered, the discharge of pollutants will be accumulated, which will further aggravate air pollution.
First, the discharge of fireworks and firecrackers in the Lantern Festival will cause the concentration of PM2.5 to rise rapidly, forming a significant pollution peak. The peak concentration of Lantern Festival appears at 19: 00 to 24: 00, and the peak concentration in 2013-2017 is significantly higher, reaching about 500 μ g/m3, which is a serious pollution level; From 2018 to 2020, due to the implementation of measures to prohibit and restrict discharge and the active cooperation of the people, the discharge intensity has been reduced, and the peak concentration has dropped significantly, but it can still reach about 150 μ g/m3, which is at the level of moderate and severe pollution.
Second, the discharge of fireworks and firecrackers significantly increased the level of air pollution in Beijing. According to the statistics of PM2.5 pollution levels in the Lantern Festival and the 16th day of the first month from 2013 to 2020, there were 3 days of light pollution, 3 days of moderate pollution and 5 days of heavy pollution, among which 3 days were serious pollution, with the over-standard rate reaching 68.8% and the heavy pollution rate reaching 31.3%.
Third, if adverse meteorological conditions are encountered, the discharge pollutants will remain and accumulate, which can form a continuous process of heavy air pollution. In the past eight years, during the Lantern Festival, there were seven years of moderate to severe air pollution that lasted for about three days. Taking the Lantern Festival in 2020 as an example, due to the unfavorable diffusion conditions, pollutants discharged in Beijing and the region were stranded, which caused the heavy pollution process in this city for three consecutive days and significantly increased the air pollution level in this city.
